Artwork Guidelines for Large Format
Digital Printing
Layout
Artwork needs to be produced in an industry-standard layout package,
ie QuarkXpress, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe
Indesign. When creating your artwork please work to any convenient
scale such as 1:2, 1:4, 1:8. We will scale this up to final size
when printing. Please allow 3mm bleed at finished size over the
page edge on all documents. Illustrator layouts must have the
document colour mode set as CMYK. Important note; most Microsoft
software is not suitable for digital printing, this includes Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.
Images
Any scanned images or Photoshop files used within designs should be
supplied at a resolution that will achieve optimum output, i.e.
100-200dpi at final output size. Images must be in CMYK colourspace
with any extra alpha channels removed.
Fonts
Please supply both screen and printer fonts used in all documents.
If working on a PC then all text must be converted to outlines.
PDFs
We are also able to runout from print-ready PDFs. Again, these will
need to include 3mm bleed, tick marks and fonts. The colour options
must be set to ‘Composite CMYK’ and maximum quality JPEG compression
can be used.
Please supply visuals.
Up-to-date colour visuals must be supplied with all jobs, either as
a hard proof or a low-resolution PDF.
Colour matching
Please tell us if we are required to match any specific Pantone
colours or colour proofs etc.
Printing
All output is produced at 720-2880 dpi on CMYK inkjet printers with
a maximum printable width of 1600mm dependent on media used.
Media
We can accept artwork via email, FTP or CD/DVD.
